1 Corinthians 6:12
“Everything is permissible for me” — but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me” — but I will not be mastered by anything.
Each of us has areas of weakness. When we begin to recognize what is beneficial and what is not and choose to put down or walk away from the latter, we have matured as a believer. God has given us a free will and great freedom in Christ, but we have to make wise decisions regarding all areas of our life.
The prodigal has probably been mastered by some bad habits that will be difficult to break. If they are willing to focus on what is most beneficial for their life, God delights in giving them the strength to make a change. I pray they will begin to pass on those things that are permissible but certainly not beneficial and not allow anything, except Christ, to be master over them.
1 Corinthians 6:12
Everything is permissible for ________ — but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for ________ — but he/she will not be mastered by anything.
