Psalm 103:13-14 NLT
The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust.
The Lord is like no earthly Father; his love is unconditional. The one who created us knows us best and His compassion flows from knowing how weak we are. He understands our weakness, but also, is the only one who truly knows our greatest potential.
I am reminded of the prodigal son, who returned home totally defeated, yet was received by a father with outstretched arms.
My prayer for the prodigal today is that they come to know God as a true Father; realizing in Him possibly what their deepest desires are centered around — unconditional love. Let’s pray the Holy Spirit will take any tendency toward weakness and powerfully turn it into strength in the prodigal’s life.
