Isaiah 30:15, 18

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it”…. Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!

Repentance and rest, quietness and trust….those are hard places for us to dwell. As we repent and rest in the work of Christ we are saved. We are strengthened, as we quietly trust in the Father. Why we choose to walk in sin, fear and disobedience I don’t know, but it might be time to allow Him rule over those things in our life. Choose to rest and wait, be still and know, and trust in His justice and mercy.

Pray today that your prodigal will learn the benefit of God’s discipline and see His mercy as well; that they are quick to repent and rest in the work of the cross; that they will wait on Him in quietness and trust.
