Jeremiah 17:10
“I, the Lord, search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”
I’m convinced the Lord is always “searching” our heart and mind. He’s looking for the good stuff in there; the willingness to change, sorrow over our sin, love for Him and others, etc. He has the ability to know our desires and intentions; things no one else can possibly know. Our actions spring from the heart, so we are served well to have a heart after Him.
May our prodigal come to realize they are not fooling God and desire to have a heart that is clean before Him…
