Jeremiah 17:10

“I, the Lord, search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”

I’m convinced the Lord is always “searching” our heart and mind. He’s looking for the good stuff in there, the willingness to change, sorrow over our sin, love for Him and others, etc. He has the ability to know our desires and intentions; things no one else can possibly know. Our actions many times spring from the heart, so we are served well to have a heart after Him.

May our prodigal come to realize they are not fooling God and desire to have a heart that is clean before Him…
