Philemon 4-7

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you have refreshed the hearts of the saints.

This is a day to use Paul’s words to his friend Philemon to visualize what your prodigal WILL become. We should be expecting a day when we will give thanks for our prodigal’s love for God and His people and for their boldness in sharing their faith. To see the prodigal become an encourager of the saints is going to be an awesome day! Speak this over your prodigal aloud and let your expectations of what God can do in their life bring hope.

  1. I don’t see many people comment on these posts. If you anything like me you may begin to wonder if they are being read. I assure you they are!
I stumbled on this at the beginning of the year and have been working through them (mostly) daily. I have shared with so many people how this simple blog has transformed my relationship with my prodigal daughter.
This post today is such a great reminder to me of God’s faithfulness and encouragement. Last week my daughter told me she believes in God and knows that even when she was in some pretty dark times it was knowing He was still with her that got her through it.
My mom heart just leaped for joy!
Thank you for this great tool to help me pray the powerful word of God over my children, not just the ones who are not yet saved.
    Yours in Christ,

    • Oh Heather, I have tears! Yes, you do sometimes wonder if these are being read. 🙂 But, God has given me a ministry I had no idea I’d have when struggling with a prodigal years ago. Using scripture to speak my child’s name into is what kept me hopeful and gave me a picture of what he could/would be during the darkest of days. We are so blessed to now see that boy’s life living fully for the Lord!
So, I will continue this blog until the Lord gives me permission to end. Thank you for such encouraging words. My prayer for your daughter is that she is making her way back home and God is revealing Himself to her more and more each day. May she be overcome by His love!
With a grateful heart in Christ,
