Isaiah 46:3b-4 NLT

I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime–until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.

There’s a tremendous amount of comfort knowing my prodigal has been carried along all of their life by hands much bigger than mine. It started at conception. Just picture creator God bending over this little lump of cells stating their purpose and future. At birth, He was as joyous as the parents over this new little life.

He knows my prodigal’s innermost hurts and disappointments, things that I may not know. I can trust the prodigal to His care.

I also find it very liberating to know I don’t have to carry around a burden of concern and worry. The one who has carried my prodigal since conception won’t abandon them now. When they need sustaining God will sustain, when they need rescuing, God will rescue….even into their old age. Praise Him!

I pray you have put your prodigal into the hands of the one who will continue to carry them along and save them…
