Psalm 119:75-77
I know, O Lord, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me. May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.
In the NLT, part of that first verse reads…”you disciplined me because I needed it”. I know God disciplines, though not every trial we go through is discipline from Him. In faithfulness God wants us to be better, have more joy, bring Him glory. Discipline is part of His loving way of shaping us.
Even with the discipline comes unfailing love and comfort. He is compassionate towards all, and our prodigal needs to be aware of that even more as they experience His discipline…
