Romans 8:16

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Even in the darkest of times, I have experienced the Holy Spirit speaking to my soul, assuring me I am a loved child of God. We are in Christ and He in us, so the deposit of the Holy Spirit into our hearts is for especially these times — when we need to know we are God’s children.

I pray the Holy Spirit is always testifying of God’s love to the prodigal; reminding them that they are His child.

Psalm 32:1-2

Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

What joy indeed for those of us who believe in Christ’s atoning work… we know we have been forgiven and our sin has been put out of sight. Because of Christ we have been cleared of all guilt!

I pray the prodigal will be filled with joy when they think of what Christ has done! May it move them to live a life in complete honesty before the Father. I pray they see themselves as God sees them… cleared of guilt.

Psalm 32:1-2
