Christianity is not a passive religion. Paul encourages Timothy, instead, to have an active faith, obeying God with courage which takes training. Sometimes it is a fight. That’s why we must always be developing skill. We can even fight from a place of rest when we know who has our back.

I pray the prodigal will learn what it means to have an active faith…one that “holds tightly” to the eternal life they are promised. I pray that they will not back down because of the reality of who God is for them.
