Psalm 44:4-8 NLT
You are my King and my God. You command victories for Israel. Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes. I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies; you disgrace those who hate us. O God, we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name.
God is for the prodigal…. He commands victories for them. I love the thought of this. Each prodigal will be trusting in something other than God for victory in their life; their own strength, knowledge, money, skill. Yet, the Father still goes to battle for them and commands victory over their life.
My prayer for the prodigal is that they recognize the enemy for who he is and depend fully on God to push back and trample him. As they begin to see God as their Champion, and trust in His name alone, may praise be on their lips.
