Psalm 37:23-24

If the Lord delights in a man’s way, He makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

It’s awesome to think that God would delight in our ways. He takes delight in our prodigals as well. We can’t know the visual God sees regarding our prodigal but we can trust the process. What might look like a fall to us could be just a stumble.

I pray God will delight in our prodigals because they are after His heart: that they will position themselves to be upheld by His hand.

I pray God will delight in our prodigals because they are after His heart: that they will position themselves to be upheld by His hand.

Matthew 7:11

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!

Just a reminder on this Father’s Day of what a wonderful heavenly Father we have, one who desires the prodigal to come home so He can lavish extravagant love on them!

I pray your prodigal is on their way home and will soon be confidently asking for the gifts the Father has for them!

Matthew 7:11

Proverbs 16:33 (NLT)

We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.

God has given us a free will and the ability to choose as we want. We love to be in control of things most days and may give little thought to how God would have us live; yet, He is determining our steps.

The prodigal has “thrown the dice,” so to speak, and tried living a life away from God. Little do they know, the Father has determined how their life will play out and has a plan for getting them there. He is wooing, directing and moving heaven and earth to bring them full circle and back to Himself.

I’m praying today that even though the prodigal thinks they are in full control of the direction of their life, God’s powerful influence will be clearly evident in the days ahead.
