Psalm 141:4
Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.
I’ve come to believe that disobedience is a heart issue. If our hearts truly love God and we know that He loves us, it’s not hard to do the right things; to be obedient and to die to fleshly desires. We need to constantly be checking our hearts and examining the desires and thought patterns that reside there.
The wicked have a way of making doing evil look deliciously tempting. I pray for the prodigal to have a heart that is turned toward the Lord and not drawn to evil. I also pray, as God more fully has their heart, He will be able to easily draw them toward obedience, which in the end is much more fulfilling.
