Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.

I believe David’s greatest desire was to live in God’s presence each day, in other words — intimacy. I think he would have liked to continuously live in the tabernacle because God’s presence was there. David made mistakes and at times he feared for his life, but he knew who to run to for forgiveness, restoration, and protection. He learned that in God’s presence was unconditional love and peace.

Thankfully we can have intimacy with Him because the presence of the Lord is inside of us. I pray the prodigal will have the desire to be in His presence, connected with Him, all the days of their lives.
