2 Timothy 1:7

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

The word “power” in this verse has to do with mighty work – miraculous power. God not only wants us to be bold but to be bold in the area of miraculous belief and action. In these last days, the church will need to be bold and expect the miraculous.

The Holy Spirit is not the author of timidity. We have the responsibility to use Holy Spirit power to love big and have self-control in all areas of our life. We can’t be a powerful servant of God without love and self-discipline.

I pray our prodigals will be bold believers; that they will be trouble for the enemy because of their faith and action. I pray they will have love and compassion for all they come in contact with and live a life of self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the strength to stand up for what we believe, the ability to love those who are difficult to love and walk in self-discipline rather than self-indulgence.

Pray for the prodigal to have this strength of the Holy Spirit evident in their lives. May they be powerfully outspoken for Christ, loving in all their relationships and self-disciplined beyond our expectations.
