Psalm 130:1-5

From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. Hear my cry O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that I might learn to fear you. I am counting on the Lord; yes I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His Word.

Regarding your prodigal, I would encourage you to be expectant and think of their life in future tense as you speak many of these verses over them. We desire that someday soon they will cry out to the Lord, learn to fear Him, count on Him and put hope in His Word..

When they do cry out, you can be assured the Father will hear them. And what an amazing thought — God doesn’t keep a record of our sin! He is a God of forgiveness… Hallelujah!
