Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Sometimes we can pray, then just step back and watch God work. Most of the time, though, we are asked to enter the battle and He promises to be alongside, upholding and strengthening us.

We have been asked to go to war for prodigals we love. It’s a battle for their hearts and minds and it can seem to go on for a long time. Nothing gives a child of God more confidence than knowing the creator of the universe is on their side as they step out, in His strength, and go into battle. I hope this blog has been of use as you have gone to battle for the heart and mind of your prodigal.

I pray the prodigal has been seeing opportunities to put God’s Word to the test in their own lives and discovering, what He says He will do, He will do. May they feel His strength and be fearless.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear ________, for I am with you; do not be dismayed ________, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you _________, with my righteous right hand.

  1. Last year my daughter was very sick and almost died. I prayed for her life like nothing I’ve ever prayed for. As she healed, I felt the Lord telling me I needed to pray for my son (prodigal) in the same way, as if his life depended on it. I have been following since April 2022. Every day I write the verse in my journal and pray over it for my son. Since last April, specific prayers have been answered. Relationships have been healed. The work is not finished, but I have found so much and joy in the journey. Thank you for your willingness to be here every day with new encouragement!

    • I can’t tell you how this excites my heart to hear this! God is good and I’m so glad there has been answered prayer. Our prodigal’s lives may very well depend on our willingness to go to battle for them. May you not grow weary in the journey. I’m so glad to be on it with you.

I want to let you know as your one year mark approaches, you’ll begin again with the same verses. These are the 365 I prayed for my son over 5 years as God pointed them out to me. (at the time I had no idea he would move back home and toward the Father at 365:) I use them over each year tweaking them some at times. I’m praying even as they repeat they’ll be a blessing and powerful for your prodigals return.
