Psalm 84:1-2

How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

God’s dwelling place was in the tabernacle, which was moved from place to place until the temple was built and divided into different “courts”. I imagine David yearned to be there because God himself was there, a living presence.

To see the prodigal cry out for the living God, desiring to be in His presence would be such a wondrous, encouraging thing. I am believing today that one day soon, we’ll see it.
