2 Kings 17:39

Worship the Lord your God; it is He who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.

Disaster fell on Israel when they disobeyed God and allowed idols into their lives. They were then tempted to worship these idols and turned away from God. He had to correct their hearts and thinking with harsh results. We, too can be taken into captivity by the enemy if we aren’t careful to keep our eyes on the Lord, tearing down any idols that are competing with Him in our lives.

Worshiping God lifts us to a place of walking in triumph; we focus on the One who is our creator, redeemer and refuge. Because of it’s power in the life of a believer, worship intimidates the enemy. He desires not only to steal, kill and destroy but to keep the strongest of God’s children from true worship.

I pray the prodigal will learn how to worship, pushing back the darkness the enemy would have engulf them. May they recognize any false idols that are present in their life. I pray they will be delivered from all their enemies because they worship the Lord their God.
