Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
Paul was a man on a mission because of a powerful encounter with the Lord Jesus himself. His goal was to run and finish the race Christ set before him. I would hope my goal is the same and that I would run with perseverance just as Paul.
I pray the prodigal will soon, if not already, be on a course that is exactly aligned with what Christ would have for them. As they begin the marathon of living out a life in Christ, may there be a sharp focus on the end goal, encouragement from fellow believers, nourishment from the Word and enlightenment and comfort from the Holy Spirit. They will have a true testimony of the gospel of God’s grace, grace that reaches down and rescues.
