2 Timothy 2:11-13

Here is a trust worthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; If we endure, we will also reign with him, If we disown him, he will also disown us; If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

What a wonderful thought that our faith in Jesus Christ seals our future with Him. We have been given a free will and ability to choose who we will worship, serve and give our life to. God won’t force us to stay in relationship with Him if we disown Him and walk away. Yet, when the believer is struggling and their faith is weak, God will not give up on them. What He has promised because of the blood of Christ, He will uphold.

I am praying the prodigal never turns his back on God to walk away but, in those times of intense struggle, they sense His faithful hand on their life and are encouraged.
