Philippians 3:8

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.

There’s a certain amount of denying self that has to take place to totally gain Christ in the most abundant way. Our thoughts of what we “value most” must shift to that which is “most valuable.” In other words… what has eternal value?

May the prodigal see the value of placing Christ above any status, material possessions, or educational goals. Our desire is that they would count it all rubbish compared to having Him.
