Isaiah 64:4

Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.

wait — to remain inactive, as until something expected happens; to be available or in readiness; to look forward to eagerly…

This partial list of definitions I pulled out because we could use them to walk out our Christian lives. We need to, many times just wait on the Lord; wait in expectancy, eagerly looking forward to what He will do. We are tempted to act on our own behalf most of the time. The “fight or flight” in us can rise up, sometimes to our detriment. But, if we will wait…. wait on Him to act on our behalf, circumstances could change for us. Certainly our perspective about out circumstance will change. He WILL act, and it will be for our good if we will but wait.

My prayer today is that the prodigal will learn the skill of patiently waiting. There is no one like our God and the universe still responds to His commands. How great to know He is in their corner.
