Isaiah 41:17-18, 20

The poor and needy, search for water but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs…..so that they may see and know, may consider and understand that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

Yesterday’s post was a reprimand from the Lord so today, I thought I should follow that with what the Father also says to Israel in the same book of Isaiah. He understands their weakness and is quick to answer when when they are thirsty for Him.

As we wait for the prodigal to come to the end of themselves and return to the one who can quench their thirst, we must trust them into God’s hands. The promise isn’t that there will be no desert, but that He can turn the desert where they find themselves, into flowing rivers and streams.

Let’s keep praying, with anticipation, for the day we will see the prodigal’s desert begin to bloom and springs flow…
