Galatians 4:28
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Sarah had been a barren woman and in her 80’s when she gave birth to Isaac. It was only by God’s goodness and pleasure that He gave Abraham and Sarah a son. It was an act of love and a promise that would establish a nation numbering like the stars.
When God sent His son to die for us it was also by His goodness and pleasure to establish His church, which would number like the stars. We are part of the promise God made to Abraham. Little did he know the promise would encompass Gentiles but we have been included in the story — praise God! We have a place in the family because of our faith in Christ.
I pray my prodigal will feel like a child of promise. The enemy can certainly cause doubts in that area. I want them to see themselves as God sees them, realizing what pleasure He gets from them.
