Psalm 130:1-5
From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help. Hear my cry O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that I might learn to fear you. I am counting on the Lord; yes I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His Word.
With a prodigal we should always be expectant and view their life in future tense. We desire for them, someday soon, to cry out to the Lord and count on Him, though they may not be there yet.
When they do cry out, you can be assured the Father will hear them. And what an amazing thought — God doesn’t keep a record of our sin! He is a God of forgiveness… Hallelujah!
