Ephesians 6:12-13

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand.

We need to recognize that our battle is not with our co-workers, our spouse, our family; not flesh and blood… the battle is against spiritual forces of evil. The mere fact that we are believers in Christ, will bring on attacks of the enemy in all areas of our life. Putting on the armor of God (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation) is the way to stand and remain standing when we’ve done everything we can.

We should be praying the armor of God over our prodigals often. I pray they will spiritually dress themselves in His armor, take up their shield and stand their ground!
