2 Thessalonians 2:13

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Salvation begins with God. There is nothing we have done, or can do, to earn this gift of love which was established from the beginning. Believing in the truth is our key to coming to faith in Christ. The guarantee lies with the Holy Spirit, who has been placed in us as a deposit on our future and moves us along in faithfulness to Christ.

Let’s pray that the prodigal will seek and delight in the truth, that their name is written in heaven because they have been chosen and loved by God himself.
