Philippians 3:13b-14

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

It’s easy to live in a prison of the past; past mistakes and guilt. But God calls us to live forward thinking, future hoping. The prize I should desire most is Christ, and being in heaven with Him for eternity; there is no greater prize. Pressing forward with a heaven mindset and taking others along with me is what my life should be about.

As I pray for the prodigal today, I’m reminded of the race they’re running, how keeping their eyes forward, not looking back will be a hard thing for them, but I am confident they can do it. I pray they will press on toward the goal of heaven and Christ.
