1 Peter 1:3-4

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you.

Living hope is what the resurrection of Christ gives. It’s an expectation that we, too, will rise again and be handed our inheritance by the Lord himself – our salvation. This hope is what keeps us going through the challenges of life.

My prayer for the prodigal is that they are hopeful today. I pray the thought of their inheritance in Christ would give them a new perspective and lift them above their circumstances.
