Isaiah 40:31 (The Message)

But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

If I need more physical strength I usually try to muster it up, take more vitamins, work out, lift some weights, you know, do something! As far as spiritual strength goes, I may try to muster it up also, but, God says we find strength when we wait; wait on Him. Waiting on the Lord includes a quiet expectation that God will fulfill His promises and give us strength to rise above life’s difficulties. It means to live from a place of rest and trust.

I pray the prodigal is learning how to trust God to help them rise and soar, not their own efforts. I pray they learn the skill of waiting on the Lord and in that, find fresh strength.
