Psalm 119:30-32

I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws. I hold fast to your statutes, O Lord; do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.

If you’ve ever hiked in the mountains along a rocky path you know it’s not wise to run or to veer off the path. The rocks can be loose and slippery and a fall could be at most disastrous and in the least, embarrassing. Life can be much like a rocky mountain path, there are things along our way that can trip us up, even be disastrous if we are not wise in the way we walk.

God has set boundaries for us, through His Word, that smooth the path ahead and give us guidelines for our walk through this life. Freedom is in the boundaries God has set for us. If we live by those boundaries, we can safely run and enjoy this life of freedom in Him!

My prayer for the prodigal is that they have chosen the way of Truth and discovered there is freedom in Christ. The boundaries may be set, but there is an amazing amount of room along His wide path to run and enjoy life.
