1 Peter 3:15-16

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness, and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

We should never be obnoxious when sharing our faith but we should never be silent when given a chance either. Having a gentle spirit, when sharing our hope, prevents anyone the ammunition for speaking evil against us. They might accuse but their accusations will be empty if we have kept our conduct above reproach.

As hope is rising up in the prodigal, I pray they will always be ready to give an answer for why they are hopeful. Then may their life, going forward, be lived in a manner that can hold up under scrutiny.
