Nehemiah 9:31

But in Your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.

Because of Israel’s rebellion they were taken into captivity, yet God didn’t abandon them. I’m thankful that God, for the sake of His great name, is a covenant keeper. He won’t destroy even those who walk away from Him, and patiently waits on them to return.

May our prodigals come to understand the mercy and grace God has towards them, even in times of rebellion. I pray that during the course of this day, there is evidence of His mercy that they can’t deny.
