Psalm 66:17-20 NLT

For I cried out to Him for help, praising Him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw His unfailing love from me.

The enemy will try and convince the prodigal that God isn’t listening, doesn’t care for them and won’t forgive their sin.

But, aren’t we thankful for a God who will not ignore the prayers of one who is contrite? He won’t ignore the prodigal in their most desperate time of need or withdraw His love from them. I’m praying for the day a cry mingled with praise comes from the prodigal’s lips to heavens door!
