Nehemiah 13:31b
Remember me with favor, O my God.
Nehemiah was a man who was fearless; he was a remarkable spiritual leader that God entrusted with the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem. Nehemiah wanted to see his people return to their former home. He trusted God completely and would not be intimidated by anyone. The Book of Nehemiah covers about 25 years. These words are spoken as the book ends. After all Nehemiah did for the nation of Israel he knew that he would probably not be remembered for it. He was secure in knowing his God remembered him with favor. (Little did he know, his story would be recorded for all time!)
In these days of social media, where our accomplishments can be touted to the world, can we be satisfied in knowing God alone sees, remembers and values us?
I pray our prodigals will come to realize that God sees and knows them. I pray they each, in their own gifting, would be useful and profitable for the kingdom; that God would smile down on their activity with pleasure.
