1 Timothy 6:6-8 NLT

Yet, true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

The prodigal in Jesus’ parable took his inheritance and left what should have a been a place of great contentment for him. He had to experience the world with a pocket full of money and fail miserably to find all he needed was his home, family and love of his father to be happy.

I pray our prodigal won’t chase after what money can buy but find the contentment that living simply before the Lord can bring. They will stand bare before the Lord at the end of time, anything money has bought or done to make them great in the world’s eyes won’t be there to prop them up. May they desire a godly lifestyle and have a giving heart toward those who are truly in need.
