Psalm 144:1-2

Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

Having sons in the military, I know the importance of training for war. They have been called into battle more than once and their training was vital to survival. It’s on the battlefield that all your training is proved to be sufficient.

The battles God will train us for are spiritual in nature and will be a constant in our lives. Not only will He train us but he’ll be our safe place where we can take refuge when the battle rages around us.

Let’s pray our prodigal realizes that the enemy is under their feet and the Father will be faithful to train them for, and protect them in, the fight.
