Galatians 6:7-8
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
If a farmer planted corn and pumpkins came up, the country would hear about it on the nightly news! Since the beginning of time, this natural law has never changed… what you sow, you reap. In the spiritual realm it’s the same. If you plant out of your own selfish desires, you will reap a crop of destruction. But if you plant desiring to please God, you will reap joy and everlasting life.
Our prodigal will have a lifetime of sowing and reaping, so my desire is that they give some thought to what they are sowing into. May their heart be turned to sowing into the Kingdom.
I hope you consider praying these verses over a prodigal, part of your “sowing.” You can expect God to bring in a good harvest from it…
