2 Corinthians 12:9
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Paul is asking God to remove the “thorn in his side,” which is a torment to him, and God replies with the encouraging words that His grace is all he needs.
Part of the equation is accepting the fact that we are weak so we will rely on His strength. His strength is actually perfected through our weakness.
My prayer for the prodigal is that they will recognize their weaknesses. I pray they will find themselves in situations that require God’s strength more so than their limited ability. May it be a proving ground for them; a discovery that He is for them and is indeed using them for His purposes.
