Deuteronomy 8:2

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way into the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands.

For each of us, there will probably be times of “desert walking”. I’ve found, in the desert is where we discover who we are in Christ and what we are made of (spiritually speaking). There are great lessons of God’s faithfulness to be learned in the desert.

I pray, as the prodigal struggles, they will discover truths about themselves and the One who loves them most. I also pray they will find their value, worth and strength come from the Lord alone. May their desert walk foster humility as well as cultivate a heart for Him.
