Psalm 86:1-4

Hear, O Lord, and answer me for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

Coming to the conclusion that they are poor and needy, in great need of God’s help, is a huge step for the prodigal. Once they fully trust the Father and see the deliverance He provides, I’m confident their devotion to Him will follow. Feeling His love and mercy while coming out of a time of rebellion is transforming. It will fuel their trust to go to deeper levels, then even in spite of difficult circumstances there can be joy in their hearts.

I envision the prodigal walking out of past failures and becoming a joyful servant of God, lifting up their soul to Him in trust!

  1. I read your posts every day. They are such an encouragement to me. I am praying for four prodigals in my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this so faithfully.
