Isaiah 42:6-7

“I, the Lord have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.”

The mission of Christ was to be an example of righteousness, fulfill the covenant of a Messiah and be a light for the Gentiles. Through Him, we have the opportunity to take up that task in this day and time. What a great privilege to help the Messiah fulfill His mission!

I pray prodigals will rise to the calling on their lives; that they would truly be a light to the lost and lead those imprisoned and in darkness to the light of freedom. What a powerful picture — one who has been set free, helping others to freedom!
